Performance Genomics Inc is a leading genomics- based research company developing genetic products for use in agricultural species and humans in the field of fertility, reproduction and reproductive longevity.
PGI intends to utilize genes it has identified in unique mouse lines selectively bred for reproductive longevity that have a major effect on this trait. A number of these candidate genes are currently being used in the development in Holstein dairy cattle of a breeding marker panel.
This test, consisting of a number of gene markers associated with reproductive performance, will enable identification of genetically superior animals for this very important trait, which is not easily manipulated using conventional breeding procedures.

Interested in Using a Unique SNP Panel?
PGI has developed of a customized mouse SNP panel in partnership with the University of Chicago. (The panel was assembled jointly by Abraham A. Palmer and Bernhard Benkel, NSAC, Truro, Canada.) For more information about the panel ‘click here’
The SNP chip is available for use with a minimum of 288 samples and the number of samples being a multiple of 12. The SNP panel can be made available with or without the genotyping service. The genotyping service can be performed by the Centre for Applied Genomics, Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto at an all-in price of $160 US per sample.
